Ellen Van Baren often says it is easier to ask her what she has not done since her background is so full of rich and rare experiences, from working retail jewelry to owning her own antique shops and raising chickens in her backyard! From buying and living in a 100 year old church in a small town in Alberta to moving permanently to Mexico, Ellen's life is never short of adventure and discovery.
Self taught in her delicate wire wrapping, her exquisite attention to detail comes from her love of fine quality and classic elegance. In 2006, to further her skills, Ellen took formal training in silversmithing at Sterling Quest School in San Miguel de Allende from Billy King, the man she describes as 'the best teacher ever'. Ellen's creations are always made with joy and love and it is evident in each piece.
